ULEZ Results So Far

ULEZ

Since its implementation on the 8th April, many have said that the ULEZ zone has been more effective than hoped at deterring drivers with high polluting vehicles from entering the city centre. In fact, initial data shows that 70% of vehicles met the tough emissions standards, meaning many people have luckily avoided the £12.50 a day charge.

However, whilst initial feedback looks promising, transport chiefs have indicated that to get a true representation of the effectiveness of ULEZ, data must be pulled from a longer period of time. Why? Because the first day of ULEZ was launched over the Easter school holidays when traffic is traditionally lighter than normal. The figures could also be skewed due to the eco-protests by Extinction Rebellion activists which stopped much of the traffic in central London.

The question comes about from pre-collected data when TfL found that about 35,500 vehicles were spotted in the zone that were not compliant with the up-coming ULEZ standards and would be expected to pay the charge, generating up to £210 million a year in income for TfL. Many of these vehicles appeared to be vans due to the growth of online deliveries.

With these new charges, travel into the centre can be stressful and somewhat confusing, not only for individuals but for businesses too. This is why we have ensured we have a wide range of cars and vans that are all ULEZ approved.

With the emphasis on vans being so high as one of the biggest polluters in London, our latest range of Connects, Lutons, Masters and Traffics are the perfect option for those who are looking for something to help with a house move, deliveries or a spring clean! Our central reservations team will be able to help you find the best vehicle to get you into London.
