Hiring a vehicle for a business trip is a great idea for companies who do not have a company car or for those that need a car with plenty of space to fit luggage, equipment and more passengers in (especially if you are collecting clients and bringing them to your office!)
But what do you need to think about before diving in?
What kind of car do you need?
First of all, determine the purpose of the trip.
If your travelling with suitcases, laptops and briefcases, how much boot space are you going to need?
If you are going to an exhibition, do you need to bring with you pull-up banners or demonstration equipment?
Do you need an executive car if you are collecting clients from an airport or train station?
2. Who’s driving the car?
Are you travelling with colleagues and therefore sharing the drive for longer trips? Just make sure we have all the details of all the potential drivers of the vehicle. All we’ll need to see is a valid driving license as with all hire arrangements.
3. Plan the length of your hire
Try and ensure your hire agreement covers you for the full extent of your trip. But, if worst comes to the worst - don’t panic! If you wish to extend your hire, arrangements must be made prior to the expiry of the current agreement and an additional payment made to enable the hire period and insurance cover to be extended. This you can do over the phone!
4. Fuel up!
We operate a “like for like” fuel policy, so please replace the fuel you use during your trip so it’s ready for the next customer!
5. Sat Nav Capabilities
If you require the use of a sat nav during your trip and would rather have it in-built within the vehicle, rather than using your navigation on your mobile, check that the car you are enquiring into has this functionality. Some of our hire vehicles come with satellite navigation as standard. Just call our central reservations team if you have any questions!
Of course, if you have any further queries before you hire a vehicle from us, then head to our FAQ’s page HERE.
